"Today, I choose to spend my time differently"
let's say you get up at 8 am...now what? you check facebook, you make breakfast, you check the TV out, etc
Today, text a couple of people. just connect. just make daily contact. 60 seconds well spent.
Now, you have to go to work or run errands? pull through the drive up at Hardees, or wherever..buy a coffee or a coke, when you get to the window..smile, ask them how their day is going, pay for the car behind you...yep, that's ministry Random act of kindness
You are watching somebody walk along with no car and you...pull over...give them a ride
You go through your day and you hear people say,"my friend is having surgery or my kid is inn trouble at school..you say.."can I pray for you..right now?"
You go to Walmart, you go out to eat, you watch TV at night, you attend sporting events and movies...it all takes time...I know it all takes time.....
There seems to be this thing going on in society that we all tell each other. "I'm just too busy to get involved or to busy to volunteer"...it's not about being too busy..it's about a willingness to change our lifestyle.
Each day I post that we (TNP volunteers) are working on a house and I get dozens of people click on the "like" button, I'm glad they like it but I would be more glad if they clicked on the pizza hut online and said I would like to feed the volunteers today or click on their own facebook page and say "can anybody spare an hour to go help or deliver a meal ..or comment, I will be there.....
I seem like a weird guy to many people because I choose to live a life of less and I choose to give more time than I have but I am called by God to be an Ezekiel type influence. To push myself to get uncomfortable, get off the couch and out of my neighborhood to help a stranger or a friend. I want that for you but if you are not called to do that, so be it...just make time....there is no time... like the present...
